Sumamed analogues are cheaper for children. Suspension and tablets “Sumamed”: complete instructions for use for children, antibiotic analogues

Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are emergency situations with fever when the child needs to be given medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and use antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to be given to infants? How can you lower the temperature in older children? What medications are the safest?

Sumamed and Azithromycin are antibacterial drugs class of macrolides, subclass of azalides. Their chemical structure is radically different from the structure of classical antibiotics. The rearrangement of nitrogen and carbon atoms creates several advantages relative to other drugs, one of the main ones is high resistance to acidic environments. To decide which is better, Sumamed or Azithromycin, we will consider in detail their pharmacological differences and similarities.

Dosage forms and chemical composition of drugs

Sumamed is available in the form of capsules, tablets, and powder for self-preparation of a suspension. Azithromycin is produced only in tablet form.

Sumamed tablets are oblong and round in shape, with corresponding dosages of 500 and 125 mg of the active substance. Biconvex, in shell blue color, white inside.

Azithromycin tablets are oval-shaped, thin film-coated, with a dosage of 500 mg. Biconvex, white outside and inside.

Basics active substance, on the basis of which drugs are produced - a semi-synthetic compound - azithromycin. It has a bacteriostatic effect on pathogenic microflora. The substance is active against the following microorganisms:

  • gram-positive bacteria - streptococci, staphylococci;
  • gram-negative bacteria - Haemophilus influenzae, coccobacilli, Neisseria, gardnerella;
  • anaerobic microbes – clostridia;
  • chlamydia, ureaplasma, mycoplasma, treponema.

Azithromycin is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and distributed throughout the body. Maximum plasma concentration is achieved 2-3 hours after administration. Bioavailability (the amount of drug that is delivered to the site of its action) is 37%. The drug easily passes through tissues and easily enters all internal environments. The most antibiotic is concentrated in the infectious focus, its smaller amount in soft tissues and a small part in the blood. The drug remains in the body for a long time and is eliminated after 1.5-2.5 days. After the last dose, the activity of azithromycin remains for a week.

Sumamed also has a bacteriostatic effect. When ingested, it quickly penetrates into phagocytes (cells immune system, a type of leukocyte) and migrates to the infectious-inflammatory focus. After 0.5-3 days, a high concentration of the substance is created in the affected tissues. It is eliminated from the body very slowly, from 2.5 to 3.5 days. Therefore, Sumamed is taken once a day. The minimum course of treatment can be 3 days, since the drug is effective for another 7-10 days after the last dose.

Azithromycin and Sumamed at large dosages have a bactericidal effect and cause the death of pathogenic microflora by damaging the walls and membranes of microorganisms. The drugs are excreted through the gastrointestinal tract with bile unchanged, a small part is transformed in the liver and excreted by the kidneys.

Indications for prescribing drugs

Sumamed and Azithromycin are prescribed for diseases caused by infectious agents sensitive to these drugs:

  • infections of the ENT organs - sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis;
  • inflammation of the upper and lower respiratory tract– laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis and pneumonia of acute and chronic form;
  • bacterial inflammation of the genitourinary tract - urethritis, cystitis, in women cervicitis (inflammation of the cervix);
  • sexually transmitted diseases;
  • Lyme disease is a contagious disease caused by ticks, manifested by severe redness of the skin, fever, intoxication, damage to the joints, nervous and vascular systems.

Drugs are also prescribed for infections of soft tissues and skin:

  • impetigo - the formation of purulent blisters on the skin;
  • erysipelas is contagious skin inflammation, often relapsing;
  • secondary pyodermatoses - pustular skin lesions of bacterial etiology;
  • severe form of acne.

Sumamed, unlike Azithromycin, is prescribed for the treatment of gastritis caused by Helicobacter pylori, duodenitis, peptic ulcer stomach and duodenum.

Contraindications to antibiotics

Contraindications for drugs vary significantly.

Azithromycin is more toxic. It is strictly forbidden to prescribe it to children under 12 years of age, to patients whose body weight is less than 45 kg, and to women during lactation. Azithromycin is contraindicated when taken simultaneously with alpha-blockers (Ergotamine, Dihydroergotamine).

Sumamed is safer for the body. Its release form allows the drug to be used in pediatric practice. Sumamed is prescribed to children from the age of 6 months. The antibiotic is also prescribed to pregnant and lactating women if there are no alternative treatments.

Both antibiotics are contraindicated if the patient's body is highly sensitive. Drugs are prescribed with caution for the following conditions:

  • functional liver pathology;
  • chronic renal failure with obvious filtration disorders;
  • cardiac arrhythmias or hereditary predisposition to them;
  • with simultaneous treatment with cardiotonics, antihistamines, anticoagulants.

Side effects of Sumamed and Azithromycin

Degree of expression side effects antibiotics are different. Due to its toxicity, Azithromycin has a more negative effect on the functioning of internal organs and systems.

Side effects when taking Sumamed are recorded only in 1% of cases. The drug is very well tolerated by patients.

Possible side effects common to both drugs:

  • digestive system - dyspeptic disorders, dysbacteriosis, constipation or diarrhea, unformed tarry stools, inflammation of the gastric mucosa, pain in the epigastric region, loss of appetite, cholestatic jaundice (bile does not enter the intestines);
  • nervous system – headaches, dizziness in the morning, loss of balance, drowsiness during the day;
  • cardiovascular system – chest pain, palpitations;
  • genitourinary system – vaginitis, fungal infection of the mucous membranes, nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys);
  • allergic reactions - itching, redness, peeling of the skin, rashes, sensitivity to ultraviolet rays, angioedema;
  • changes in the leukocyte formula.

When treating inflammation of the middle ear with Sumamed, children rarely experience the following side symptoms: aching headaches, disrupted night sleep, increased agitation, and neurosis.

The negative effects of Azithromycin on the body are more severe. With prolonged or improper use, an antibiotic can lead to life-threatening conditions.

When taking Azithromycin, the patient's tongue color may change. Sometimes anorexia develops due to inflammation of the intestinal mucosa and mental disorders. The antibiotic is very toxic to the liver. It can cause inflammation of the organ (hepatitis), disruption of its functions, and liver failure. In severe cases, necrosis (death of areas) of the liver occurs, followed by an unfavorable outcome.

The effect of Azithromycin on the central nervous system manifests itself in the form of the following symptoms:

  • muscle cramps;
  • asthenia – general weakness of the body;
  • skin sensitivity disorders;
  • hyperactivity, excitability, sometimes aggressiveness, nervousness, constant anxiety.

Azithromycin causes problems with the heart. Arrhythmias and ventricular tachycardia appear. Sometimes patients have arthralgia - rheumatoid-type joint pain. At high doses, the antibiotic can provoke the development of such a dangerous condition as acute renal failure.

When taking Azithromycin, in addition to classic allergic manifestations, Steven-Johnson syndrome (a severe form of damage to the skin and mucous membranes) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (bullous dermatitis with high temperature and intoxication).

The country of origin of Sumamed is Crovania, Azithromycin is Macedonia. Considering the pharmacological characteristics of antibiotics, we can conclude that Sumamed is better than Azithromycin. It is non-toxic and safe for children with infancy, elderly and frail patients. Sumamed does not have a strong toxic effect on internal organs and does not create a risk of developing serious conditions. It is also prescribed to pregnant women and nursing mothers. The disadvantage of Azithromycin is that it can only be used in adults due to dosage form release and high single dosage of tablets. Sumamed and Azithromycin are analogue drugs, and the final decision on their prescription is made by the attending physician.

The use of antibiotic therapy for various diseases Recently it has become an integral part of treatment - both for children and adults. It is the drugs of this group that have become a panacea for all kinds of infections. And although the translation of the word “antibiotic” sounds like the phrase “against life” and is somewhat frightening, often treatment without it does not lead to the desired result, because it suppresses the growth of bacteria, viruses and microbes in the body. The pharmacology market offers a huge number of drugs with a wide and narrow spectrum of effects, each of them can affect only a certain type of microorganisms, therefore, in order for the treatment to be effective, a specialist must choose a drug for a particular disease. That is why manufacturers of antibacterial medications emphasize that self-medication can be hazardous to health.

When is Azithromycin or Sumamed prescribed?

The indications for prescribing these two drugs are various infections that have arisen due to the introduction into the body of microbes and bacteria that are sensitive to the main component in the drug - azithromycin. This:

  • bacterial such as sinusitis, otitis media, pharyngitis and tonsillitis;
  • infectious diseases of the respiratory system, including pneumonia and bronchitis;
  • diseases of the skin and soft tissues caused by infection;
  • inflammatory lesions of the pelvic organs of infectious origin;
  • diseases transmitted through sexual contact, such as chlamydia, cervicitis and urethritis.

A little history

Many people are interested in how “Sumamed” differs from “Azithromycin”, if both the indications and the active component of the drug are identical? To get the answer, you must first look into the history of the origin of these medicines. Thus, the drug “Sumamed”, the main component of which is the substance azithromycin, was developed by pharmacists of the famous Croatian company “Pliva”. This event occurred in 1980, the medicine was immediately patented and was named the drug “Sumamed”. While the name “Azithromycin” is unofficial, it is used all over the world for many analogues of this antibiotic.

What is the difference?

The main difference between these medications is that the patented drug must undergo all clinical studies and trials, while the so-called generics are based on studies of the original. This also results in the cost of the drugs: the original, as a rule, costs 3-4 times more. It follows that more cheap analogue"Sumameda" - "Azithromycin". The fact is that the production of generic drugs costs manufacturers much less, because they are only a copy, and much less money is spent on their development.

What to choose: Azithromycin or Sumamed

Reviews from doctors and patients come to the consensus that both the original and analogues have the same effect and effectiveness. Both drugs have strong bactericidal activity and act on the pathogens of syphilis and gonorrhea, legionella, streptococci, and chlamydia. Reviews from patients who have experienced the effects of these medications note that, thanks to the different release forms, it is very convenient to use for both children and adults. So, for example, the drug “Sumamed” has two forms: tablets and suspension, and its analogue “Azithromycin” comes in capsules, tablets and syrup. This variety makes it possible to choose the appropriate dosage and method of administration. Also, a huge number of people note that the medications “Sumamed” and “Azithromycin”, the difference of which is often only in cost, cope with their task equally well. And after the first day of use, you can feel relief, expressed in a decrease in temperature and suppression of symptoms of the disease. Doctors, for the most part, prescribe the drug “Sumamed”, and the choice most likely depends on the clinical trials of the drug.

Assignment Rules

Regardless of which antibiotic was prescribed (Azithromycin or Sumamed), the dosage regimen recommended by the doctor should be followed. Under no circumstances should you make an independent decision about taking the drug; this can only cause harm to the body. Each of the drugs and release forms has its own established dosages relative to the age and complexity of the disease. Before starting treatment, the patient must undergo laboratory research to determine the sensitivity of bacteria to the active component. However, the disadvantage of this analysis is that it takes several days to complete. Therefore, in order not to waste time and not prolong the disease to serious complications, relying on his experience, he may prescribe one or another antibiotic. Which drug to choose - Azithromycin or Sumamed - is a personal matter. And many people prefer cheaper medicine.

Admission rules

An analogue of "Sumamed" - "Azithromycin", like the original itself, should be taken one hour before eating food or two hours after it. It is very important to follow this simple rule, because food reduces the effect of these medications. The advantage of treatment with these antibiotics is that they need to be taken only once a day, in the dose prescribed by the doctor. Often, the dosage regimen is prescribed individually, but there are also recommended doses: for adults 500 mg, for children the calculation is based on body weight - from 25 to 50 kg, 10 mg per 1 kg, if the weight exceeds 50 kg, then the dose is recommended as for adults. For babies whose weight does not reach 25 kg, a suspension or syrup is prescribed; milligrams are also calculated based on the child’s weight.

A little about side effects

Like many medications, antibiotics have their side effects. And, as a rule, it is because of them that most people are so afraid of using them. And partly the fear is justified, because antibiotic therapy has a detrimental effect on the body, be it the drug Azithromycin or Sumamed. Manufacturers of these drugs primarily note the impact on work, which manifests itself in nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, disorders and flatulence. Sometimes side effects They also manifest themselves in skin rashes, the so-called urticaria.

Which drug is better to choose?

It is impossible to answer this question unequivocally, since the active component of the drugs, action, rules of administration, doses and even side effects are identical. Reviews from patients and doctors also do not particularly help solve this dilemma; the main selection criterion can only be that these drugs have different prices and Azithromycin is cheaper. "Sumamed", the price of which is much higher, has only one advantage - the clinical trials conducted, which were mentioned earlier. However, the quality and results of using both drugs have been confirmed in practice, and there are practically no examples of drugs failing to cope with the task. And the possible side effects that are described in the instructions for these antibiotics are treatments. That is why choice and preference is a personal matter for each patient, because this is his health and his finances.

The cheapest generic is Azithromycin. It quickly copes with inflammation and blocks the proliferation of bacteria. Azithromycin is a bactericidal drug. The content is no different from “Sumamed”. The difference is less toxicity due to the introduction of new technologies and cleaning methods into the production process.

Azithromycin did not undergo clinical trials at the development and invention stage. The disadvantage of the drug is the appearance of pain in the abdomen and chest after taking the pills. The pain appears after twenty minutes. Doctors and pharmacists do not explain the appearance of pain; they consider it a side effect.

A medical professional prescribes Sumamed or its generics. You should not engage in self-diagnosis and self-medication. This will negatively affect your well-being and health.

    We took azithromycin for my husband’s prostatitis. At least with smartprost it helps no worse than sumamed.

    Answer

    1. Well, in this case, smartprost definitely has nothing to do with it - with antibiotics, the effect depends on the spectrum, but with sumamed it is the same as with azitrox, azithromycin, etc., there is one active ingredient. Therefore, I don’t see any point in taking more expensive antibiotics.

      Answer

      1. Anna. Read about the action of smartprost, and then write. How can he have nothing to do with it?

        Answer

          1. smartprost is easier to buy for home. The clinic charges unrealistically high prices. and at home it will justify itself in a couple of years

            Lydia, all the expenses are due to our ignorance. If you read the smartprost instructions, you would understand that the same treatment can be done in a clinic, and for free

    I get sick often, and about once a year I get seriously ill, with a high fever: I have to take antibiotics. I chose Azitral for myself: a more affordable analogue of Sumamed. At the same time, it is at least no less effective - bronchitis disappears in a couple of days. This is a strong antibiotic, so of course there can be side effects, but they are quite tolerable, like Sumamed: the dysbacteriosis is slight. Share with anyone who has similar problems - how do you treat them?

    Answer

    My summer started with a bad cold. Lucky so lucky. The doctor prescribed treatment with Sumamed. I sent my husband to the pharmacy. When I found out how much it cost, I almost recovered on the spot. I immediately started looking for a remedy on the Internet. It turned out that there is the same thing, only much cheaper - it’s called Azitral. He got me back on my feet in a couple of days. But of course I finished the course, I really didn’t want the disease to return. Everything is fine, but I’m afraid that soon we’ll only be treated with the Internet...

    Answer

    There are a huge number of antibiotics, it is difficult for a doctor to understand them, let alone an ordinary person. But I was lucky to find a really good one: Azitral is one of the brands of antibiotics based on azithromycin. Among them there is, for example, Sumamed - one of the oldest and most famous. But they were able to make Azitral more accessible without losing any of its effectiveness.

    Answer

    Children often get sick, especially schoolchildren. As soon as the infection starts, it will affect everyone at once. It all started with a cough for my daughter. I don't use any medications, I treat folk remedies: all sorts of decoctions, honey, garlic. However, this time some vague form of infection appeared, when the cough quickly reaches the bronchi, and then asthma is just a stone's throw away. So the wheezing appeared in addition to the cough. I searched and found a more or less safe antibiotic - Azitral. So far I have given only one tablet, but my daughter slept peacefully at night without coughing or wheezing. It’s a good medicine, of course, but I’ll still continue to treat it with herbs and honey and garlic.

Sumamed is intended for the treatment of acute respiratory diseases, and is also used for lesions of the eyes and epidermis. This is one of the most popular drugs prescribed to combat bacterial infections. But, like any antibiotic, the medication can cause a number of side effects, and then the question arises of replacing Sumamed with analogues. This section lists the most popular remedies that have similar effects.

Sumamed is an antibiotic, the manufacturing country of which is Croatia. According to its group affiliation, it belongs to macrolides and azalides, and also has a wide spectrum of action.

Active component medicine is the compound azithromycin. This substance is capable of suppressing the growth and reproduction of pathogenic microflora; it is active against gram-negative, gram-positive, anaerobic and intracellular bacteria.

Once in the body, the drug is quickly absorbed through the walls of the digestive tract into the blood and distributed throughout the cells. It should be borne in mind that when taking the medication with food, its effectiveness decreases. The metabolic process is carried out by the liver over a long period of 35 to 50 hours. Excretion occurs through bile and urine. Approximately half of the drug comes out unchanged.

In pharmacies, the drug is presented in 3 forms: tablets of 0.125 and 0.5 g, capsules of 0.25 g, and powder for the preparation of suspensions with a dosage of the active substance of 0.1 g in 5 ml. The latter form of the drug is used in pediatrics.

The drug is prescribed when the following conditions are detected:

  • diseases respiratory organs bacterial nature (sore throat, pneumonia, sinusitis, pharyngitis and bronchitis);
  • bacterial infections of the epidermis and soft tissues (erysipelas, Lyme disease and others);
  • disorders in the genitourinary system of a bacterial nature (cervicitis and urethritis);
  • diseases digestive organs caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori.

The list of contraindications to the use of the drug is very small. It is forbidden to drink it for persons suffering from liver and kidney disorders, as well as hypersensitivity to the components of the composition.

Relative restrictions include the period of gestation and lactation, as well as the presence of arrhythmia. In such cases, the medication is used only with a doctor’s prescription, and treatment is carried out under strict professional supervision.

As for the cost of the drug, it depends on the dosage and the number of tablets or capsules in the box. For example, Sumamed with a medicinal component volume of 0.5 g, 3 tablets per package, will cost from 450 to 500 rubles. A medicine in the same form, but with a dose of the active substance of 0.125 g, will cost less - approximately 350-380 rubles. The drug in the form of 0.25 g capsules is packaged in 6 pieces and costs from 450 to 520 rubles.

Analogues of Sumamed for adults and children

The question of a Sumamed substitute may arise for several reasons: the patient is not satisfied with the cost of the drug, intolerance to the components of the drug has been discovered, or the drug composition does not provide the necessary therapeutic effect.

In the first case, an analogue of Sumamed is selected that is cheaper, but with the same active ingredient. As for the last two situations, a drug containing a different active component is needed. Let's consider medications that can replace the drug under discussion.

Azithromycin tablets

This medicinal composition is produced in Russia, but costs much less than Sumamed (approximately 45-65 rubles per package). Its dominant component is azithromycin dihydrate, which can act on the site of inflammation. Medicinal substance characterized by a wide spectrum of activity, it is active against many types of pathogenic microorganisms.

The product is available in tablets with a dosage of 0.25 and 0.5 g. There are age restrictions: this medicinal composition is contraindicated for persons under 12 years of age. But in some cases, if there is an urgent need, it can also be prescribed to six-year-old patients.

Other contraindications to the use of the drug include:

  • severe kidney dysfunction;
  • allergy to lactose;
  • breast-feeding;
  • hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

On a note! A similar drug is produced in the Czech Republic, it is called Azithromycin Zentiva. This medicine is somewhat more expensive than the Russian medicine, but has the same properties.

Azitrox capsules

This is another one Russian analogue Sumameda. Its price is approximately 180-200 rubles per package. The drug is a macrolide antibiotic and is based on azithromycin. Release form: capsules with a dosage of 0.25 and 0.5 g.

The drug is prescribed for infectious and inflammatory disorders. It has activity against a number of pathogenic organisms.

Adult patients and adolescents over 12 years of age can drink it. Childhood is considered an absolute contraindication. In addition, the ban applies to cases such as severe liver and kidney disorders, pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as individual intolerance to components.

Chemomycin tablets

Hemomycin is presented in the form of blue capsules. They are created on the basis of gelatin, and inside there is a white suspension that contains 0.5 g of the active substance - azithromycin dihydrate. There is also another form of the drug; it is also available as a solution for infusion.

The cost of one package of the product is approximately 135-150 rubles. Despite the fact that this antibiotic is much cheaper than Sumamed, it has an equally strong effect on harmful microorganisms.

However, the list of contraindications for this medicinal composition is slightly wider than that of its more expensive analogue. The main prohibitions for use include not only allergies to components, liver and kidney failure, or other serious pathologies of these organs. Hemomycin should not be used for cardiac arrhythmias, or for the treatment of children under 12 years of age.

Zitrox

This product is somewhat more expensive than Sumamed's previous analogues. Its cost is almost the same as that of the drug under discussion (ranges from 320 to 450 rubles).

The dominant component of the composition is azithromycin dihydrate. The medicine is presented in white, smooth, elongated tablets with a film coating. The dosage can be 0.25 and 0.5 g.

This drug has a systemic effect on the body and should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding, severe disorders in the functioning of the kidneys and liver, as well as severe allergies to the components of the product. In addition, there is an age limit. Zitrox is not prescribed to children under 3 years of age.

Attention! When choosing this drug instead of Sumamed, it is worth considering that it will be inferior to its analogue in pharmacological and pharmacokinetic characteristics. To achieve the desired result, longer therapy will be required, and this is extremely undesirable when taking antibiotics.

Flemoxin solutab

This product is similar to Sumamed in terms of its effects, but the active component is different. This is amoxicillin - a substance penicillin group. This antibiotic is active against many microorganisms and is used in the treatment of a number of diseases of bacterial origin.

The medication is presented in tablet form with a dosage of 0.125, 0.25, 0.5 and 1 g. Its cost, depending on packaging, is 250-350 rubles.

The list of contraindications is small. It is prohibited to use this remedy for liver and kidney diseases, in the first trimester of pregnancy and in case of allergic reaction on the components of the composition. Medicine is prescribed for children, but treatment is carried out under the supervision of a specialist.

These are not all analogues of Sumamed that can be used in connection with bacterial disorders. For example, there are relatively cheap domestic generics Z-factor or the drug Augmentin. They have similar effects on the body.

What to choose - Sumamed or Azithromycin?

Azithromycin contains a similar active substance as is present in Sumamed. Regarding the composition of the drugs, the difference lies only in the auxiliary components.

In addition, differences are also observed in the release forms. Azithromycin is not produced in the form of a suspension, like its foreign analogue. The Russian drug is presented only in tablets.

The prices for these drugs also vary. Azithromycin is several times cheaper, due to which it is often chosen by patients who are indicated to take an antibiotic of similar effects.

Regarding effectiveness, it is worth noting that these drugs “work” in the same way. The range of their effects is very wide, and they can be used in the treatment of many diseases. But it is worth considering that Azithromycin contains lactose, and people who are allergic to this drug are better off treated with Sumamed, which does not contain this compound.

Despite the above factors, quite often the choice of patients and doctors still falls on Sumamed. The fact is that this remedy is classified as an original medicine that has passed a number of tests and is considered relatively safe.

In any case, the selection of a medicine to eliminate a particular disease should be done by a doctor. Here you will need to take into account a number of criteria, such as the nature of the disorder, concomitant diseases, age and individual characteristics of the patient. Self-medication can cause significant damage to health.

Bacterial infections are the most common pathology and require specific treatment. Most often, patients are prescribed Sumamed, but for such an expensive drug there is a cheap and effective analogue.

The antibacterial agent is available in the form of a lyophilisate for injection. The drug has a wide spectrum of action and is effective in treating the following types of infection:

  • Staphylococcus aureus;
  • Staphylococcus pneumonia;
  • streptococci;
  • Staphylococcus pyogenes;
  • Staphylococcus epidermidis;
  • Neisseria;
  • mycoplasma;
  • borrelia;
  • Brucella

The antibiotic has bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties depending on the dosage of the drug.

What does the medicine consist of?

The active ingredient in Sumamed is azithromycin. In addition to it, the composition includes:

  • cellulose crystals,

Azithromycin is a worthy replacement for Sumamed

Both drugs contain the same active ingredient; the difference lies only in the auxiliary components of the drug. The spectrum of action for drugs is the same.

It is worth noting that Sumamed underwent all laboratory and clinical studies before hitting the pharmacy shelves, while its analogue Azithromycin did not.
The price of Azithromycin is 3-4 times less than the cost of the original drug. Sumamed also has other cheaper analogues:

  • Azitral;
  • Azitrox;
  • Sumasid;
  • EcoMed.

All names have a similar pharmacological composition, however, the list of contraindications and side effects of therapy is different. Before purchasing Sumamed and its analogue, you should read the instructions for the drug and consult a doctor.

My son got very sick this winter. I had to be treated with antibiotics, the doctor prescribed Sumamed. When I saw the price in the pharmacy, I was scared. But a kind pharmacist suggested buying Azithromycin. We took the pills for 7 days and recovered.

Anna, Kharkov.

I was prescribed Azithromycin due to kidney inflammation. I was treated with it for three days, and then I began to notice that I could not hear well. The doctor immediately stopped the drug, and my hearing was restored. But this treatment ruined my nerves! I will never buy cheap products again!

Gregory, Naberezhnye Chelny.

I was treated with Sumomed for pneumonia. The cough was wild, wheezing, the temperature was below 40. We just started getting injections and the symptoms immediately began to subside. First the temperature disappeared, and then the cough. Very pleased with the medicine.
