  • accelerate blood clotting;
  • increase the rate at which platelets leave the bone marrow.

In addition, Dicynon strengthens the walls of blood vessels and capillaries, which reduces the likelihood of damage to blood vessels when blood circulation increases.

The effect of the drug in stopping the flow of blood from the uterus is explained by the fact that Dicinone promotes the growth of thromboplastin. As a result of this, the release of prostacyclin, which stops bleeding.

A positive property of Dicinon is that although it stops blood loss, it does not lead to an increase in blood clotting, an increase in blood pressure and the formation of blood clots.

The action of Dicinon during bleeding in the uterus occurs in 3 stages:

  • first there is a decrease in blood flow;
  • then the bleeding stops completely;
  • due to this, there is a reduction in blood loss.

During uterine bleeding, Dicinone not only stops this process, but also helps strengthen the capillaries.

The doctor examined the uterus, no significant changes were found, after all the tests they said that the reason was a disruption in the production of hormones. The doctor said that if you drink decoctions medicinal herbs, then this is not enough, only pills will stop blood loss during menstruation, they prescribed Dicinon, and after a day it immediately became easier. Women are often concerned about uterine bleeding, which has different reasons. Doctors have a large number of tools at their disposal to help cope with this pathology. Dicynone is one of the most popular, effective and inexpensive drugs.

Why does uterine bleeding occur?

The discharge of blood from the female genital organs, not programmed by nature, is an abnormal condition and requires treatment. There are many reasons for uterine bleeding. Therefore, a classification has been created of the main factors affecting the body of women that can cause bleeding from the uterus.

Conventionally, there are 2 main categories of reasons:

  1. Pathologies arising from diseases and conditions that do not affect the reproductive system:
    • infections:
      • sepsis;
      • dysentery;
    • blood diseases:
      • vasculitis;
      • hemophilia;
    • metabolic disease;
    • pathologies in the functioning of the cardiovascular system;
    • cirrhosis of the liver.
  2. Diseases, pathologies and conditions related to the reproductive system:
    • tumors (benign and malignant) of the uterus and/or ovaries;
    • ruptures of cysts and/or ovaries;
    • genital infections;
    • inflammatory processes of the uterus:
      • endometritis;
      • cervicitis;
      • erosion;
    • menopause;
    • pathologies during pregnancy;
    • period of puberty.

Most often, vaginal/uterine bleeding occurs during menopause, when a woman’s body is very susceptible to the influence of negative external factors.

Uterine bleeding is divided into dysfunctional and breakthrough. Any manifestation of bleeding from the uterus requires emergency measures aimed at stopping the bleeding and identifying (with subsequent elimination/treatment) the true causes of this condition.

Dicinon for uterine bleeding: effectiveness and feasibility

The primary pre-medical measures to stop uterine bleeding to prevent large blood loss are to ensure complete rest and use hemostatic agents (only if absolutely necessary).

Among medicines, capable of reducing the abundance of blood discharge, the most popular is Dicynon. It can be found in any pharmacy chain.

Dicynon is a scientific and pharmaceutical development of the famous company LEK (Slovenia). The drug is based on an active active substance etamsylate, which has the following properties:

  • angioprotective;
  • hemostatic;
  • stimulating.

Etamsylate in the base of Dicynon promotes platelet formation, their aggregation and activity. The medicine helps in the formation of thromboplastin, which consequently reduces bleeding. Dicynone prevents the destruction of blood vessels and also helps reduce fragility, normalizing their permeability in various pathological processes. Blood microcirculation improves without thrombosis.

The mild hemostatic effect is noticeable within 15–30 minutes after taking the drug, and the highest peak of effectiveness is observed after 1–2 hours. The effect of the drug lasts no more than six hours, and then weakens over the next 24 hours.

The medicine is available in two forms: solution for intramuscular or intravenous internal administration and tablets. In pre-medical practice, a tablet drug is used. In other cases, the use of this medicine requires a special prescription from a doctor in a hospital setting.

Most effective method intravenous administration of Dicinone is considered to be used.

Composition and description of the drug Dicinon

As already mentioned, the main active ingredient in any form of release of the drug is ethamsylate. In tablets and injections, its amount is 250 mg.

The remaining components of tableted Dicynone are auxiliary:

  • corn starch;
  • lactose;
  • lemon acid;
  • magnesium stearate;
  • Povidone K25.

The tablets are biconvex, white, with a breaking line. Packed in a blister of 10 units.

The solution for intramuscular and intravenous administration in its composition (except for the active substance) has the following additional components:

  • sodium disulfide;
  • sodium bicarbonate (to adjust pH levels);
  • distilled water.

The drug is a colorless liquid, in 2 ml ampoules made of neutral transparent glass with special marks for proper opening. The break point is marked with colored paint. The ampoules are packaged in special blisters of 5 or 10 pieces.

When is the drug prescribed?

Any bleeding can be an indication for the use of Dicinon. However, most often this drug is used for pathological conditions when there is a danger of large blood loss. These may be the following types of uterine bleeding:

  • dysfunctional, when the ovaries malfunction;
  • profuse, not accompanied by pain and caused by abortion, infection, fibroids;
  • breakthrough, due to hormonal imbalance or injury;
  • hypotonic, with minimal uterine tone, usually after abortion or childbirth.

Use during pregnancy

However, during pregnancy, if bleeding from the genitals occurs, you should refrain from using Dicinon on your own, since only a doctor can correctly assess the situation and decide on the advisability of taking this drug.

The use of the product during pregnancy is possible only when the potential benefit for the woman exceeds possible risks for the unborn child. If it is necessary to use the drug during lactation, breastfeeding must be stopped.

Use in childhood

It is possible to use the drug in the treatment of uterine bleeding in children only in accordance with the doses prescribed by the doctor. In such cases, strict adjustments must be made in relation to the patient’s age and weight.

    • nausea;
    • heartburn;
    • heaviness in the stomach;
    • flatulence.
  3. Allergy.
  4. Reduced blood pressure.
